Cozy up with my Winter Sangria, a festive twist on the classic drink. This rich and flavorful sangria combines bold red wine, oranges, cranberries, and a splash of brandy, making it perfect for holiday parties or winter gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) red wine (such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Rioja)
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 2 oranges, thinly sliced
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup cranberry juice
- 2 tbsp honey or simple syrup (optional, to taste)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Ice
- Sparkling water or club soda (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Thinly slice the oranges and rinse the cranberries.
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange slices, cranberries, orange juice, cranberry juice, and honey or simple syrup (if using).
- Add the cinnamon stick and stir well to combine all the flavors.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.
- When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria over the ice.
If desired, top each glass with a splash of sparkling water or club soda for added fizz. - Garnish each glass with a slice of orange and a few cranberries for a festive touch.
