Sparkling Citrus Sangria
A refreshing and vibrant sangria recipe combining fresh citrus fruits with sparkling wine for a delightful twist on a classic favorite. Perfect for brunch, celebrations, or a sunny afternoon.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of sparkling wine (750 ml), chilled
- 1/2 cup orange liqueur (such as Triple Sec or Cointreau)
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 lime, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup club soda, chilled
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Prepare the Sangria Base: In a large pitcher, combine the orange liqueur, fresh orange juice, lime juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.
- Add the Citrus Fruits: Add the orange, lemon, and lime slices to the pitcher. Gently muddle the fruit slices with a spoon to release their juices and flavors.
- Pour in the Sparkling Wine: Slowly pour the chilled sparkling wine into the pitcher. Stir gently to combine, being careful not to lose too many bubbles.
- Add Fresh Mint and Club Soda: Add the fresh mint leaves to the pitcher. Top off with chilled club soda for an extra bubbly effect. Stir gently to mix.
- Chill and Serve: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangria over the ice. Garnish with additional citrus slices and mint leaves if desired.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing, zesty flavors of this Sparkling Citrus Sangria!
Notes
- Add more simple syrup or a splash of fruit juice for a sweeter sangria.
- To enhance the citrus flavor, consider adding a few grapefruit slices or a splash of grapefruit juice.
- Substitute sparkling wine with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda if you prefer a non-alcoholic version.
Enjoy this Sparkling Citrus Sangria as a delightful addition to any occasion!
