A festive take on the classic mojito with spiced gingerbread syrup, fresh mint, lime, and rum. Perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz gingerbread syrup (see tips below)
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • Soda water or sparkling water (to top)
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint sprig, lime wedge, and a cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a tall glass, add the fresh mint leaves and lime juice. Gently muddle to release the mint’s aroma without breaking the leaves.
  2. Pour in the white rum and gingerbread syrup. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Add ice cubes to the glass, leaving room at the top for soda water.
  4. Pour soda water or sparkling water over the drink to add a fizzy finish. Stir gently.
  5. Garnish with a mint sprig, lime wedge, and a cinnamon stick for a festive presentation.
  6. Serve immediately and savor the spiced, refreshing flavors of this holiday-inspired Gingerbread Mojito!

Notes

  • To make homemade gingerbread syrup, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1 tablespoon molasses, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes, let it cool, and strain into a jar.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less syrup to taste.
